Braden

There was a lot going on in this first episode. We were introduced to the main characters, the world, the basic premise, and then as well there was a political aspect as well. This is much more than you would normally see in the first episode, normally you see some characters introduced who resolve a single situation, with the mythos of the world being revealed after that.

Considering there was more crammed in to the first episode than usual, this was fairly well executed. Since so much was crammed in to the episode, it felt like a lot of what we were introduced to was not really well flushed out. We learned something about the main character and his motivations, and something about the world around him, but there was no real exploration of anything else (there wasn't time).

Overall, this seems like a promising medieval/political-intrigue anime. I would hope that subsequent episodes flush out the other characters and world more.

Promising characterisation, well-written plot and some nice cleavage -- the owner of which, according to my informant, will be more important in the second arc. I would definitely like to see more of them (the characters, the plot and the etc.).

Jason

First episode was a *bit* too fast paced and had a bit too many info dumps for an intro but it has potential. Probably would have been better to split the episode into two parts to examine what's happening first but that will hopefully be fixed in the future.

Michael Eh?

A mix up starting with the second arc. Shara part doesn't have the impact of the manga. It drifts back assassination arc. In the manga, the info dump happens in the second chapter. This show hasn't gotten off to a good start. You're better off with the manga.
