Sword Art Online

In the year 2022, the Virtual reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) Sword Art Online (SAO) is released. With the Nerve Gear, a VR Helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds. But an unexpected event occurs on November 6, 2022 when Akihiko Kayaba, the creator of SAO, prevents the players from logging out. Akihiko issues them a challenge; if they wish to be free and log out of the game, they must reached the 100th floor of the game's tower and defeat the final boss. However, should their in-game characters die in the game, so will their bodies in the real world. As the game's 10,000 players tries to accept their new deadly predicament, Kirito, a skilled player who tested the beta version of the game, is determined to reach the 100th floor and be free. Along with Asuna, his partner and love interest, and their friends, Kirito and his allies will face many obstacles and discovers the true purpose of SAO. As their adventure continues, they will also participate in other VRMMO games as well.

O..M..G! Though I admit to NOT seeing .//hack I can see this will be good especially with the plot twist at the beginning! I want to see more!

Vokoh

This anime has a good reference to something like the .//hack series, but i don't mind. it's one of those shows where they draw you in the longer you watch it. I'm excited to see more of it.

Jason

Nice setup for a first episode wasn't expecting it to show it's conflict so soon. Will be interesting to see if it can keep up it's tension later into series. I deinitely called the Guy in Real Life trap though...

I'm impressed how they setup this show. Definitely NOT .//hack though I wonder if the rest of the episodes will play out. Whither people on the outside of this game will try to hack into the game to try to save as many as they can or others will try to bust out in mass.

humanbean

hack/slash with a higher body-count. It's ok. not great, but watchable.

Doug

If the writer needs to waste an entire episode to establish a setting thats roughly equivalent to a fantasy world with modern characters and an evil god, I don't have much confidence that the rest of the series would be too interesting.

Amanda

I thought that the anime was a very interesting concept. The story was started right away and it was to the point. the animation style is also very well done. The first episode of SAO was very interesting and I will be watching the rest of the episode.
