Cobra is a notorious Space Pirate with a laser gun as his left arm. But, he was tired of being chased by the agency in space and decided to lead a regular life by changing his face & being wiped of his memory. 
3 years later, he is a regular person leading a regular life. He is tired of his lifestyle. For fun, he goes to see a "Trip Movie" that allows him to see the dream of his choice. When he saw his "dream", he saw his memories of when he was the notorious Space Pirate Cobra. However, he didn't know that was his memories. As he is going home, he meets up with someone who had a grudge with him. There is a little scuffle, and learns that he actually has a laser gun on his left hand.

The setting may be futuristic but everything else is pure 1960's - the plot, the bad guys, the courageous but helpless babe and her humongous cleavage and most of all the hero with his gun-arm, his flowing red mane and the cigar that doesn't leave his mouth ... even when he's getting beaten up. It's just the kind of retro trash I need when I feel like turning off my brain.

A remake which maybe sticks a little TOO much to the original. It might be better to re-release the original series than just to simply do it again exactly as it was. Animation and story telling have improved alot it's a shame it's not here. Other remakes have done service to the old while making it seem new without compromise. On the other side, it's retro story which gives you a look at where we've have come from.

as a rule, i'm usually not enthusiastic about these series remakes. both characters & plot come off as one dimensional & the humor is typically inane and predictable. COBRA is not an exception. i think i'll pass.

I like fan service and I love identity-switching stories (mind or body). So I enjoyed Kampfer, but I would have liked it even more with a bit of subtlety. (The story, not the fan service.)

A gender bender comedy that is truly bent. Wickedly funny. The characters can't get any further juxtapose of their alter egos and the real life characters. If they can, I shutter at what could be further and demented plushies which give Bleach's Kon and run for it's money. Not to mention taking pot shots at the voice actors in the show. Well worth the time wasted watching.

Cute opening to a series worth watching. Start is a flash ahead to the end of the episode. The rest of the episode is what transpires without the usual monologue done so many times over. The end of the episode doesn't explain things nicely but makes you want to see the next to find out more.

Most of the subtitles were unreadable but what I understand of the story seemed like a bunch of corny subplots. Even with the beautiful fan service a little focus would be nice.

After the serious tone of Kamen Rider Decade, it was time for light comedy of Kamen Rider series. Taking a cue from Kamen Rider 555, they hit the right mix of two lead actors which fan girls there and here will swoon over. Great balance of characters, costumes and special effects which blend seamlessly into a fun plotline.

Casshern Sins tells the story of a world where robots subjugated humanity after becoming self-aware. Their leader, Braiking Boss, rules over the world with an iron fist. One day, a mysterious girl named Luna is summoned by the people for salvation of mankind. Fearing that she can be a potential threat, Braiking sends three of his most powerful cyborg warriors to dispose of Luna: Casshern, Dio and Reda. Casshern, the strongest warrior, manages to track down and kill Luna. This triggers a cataclysmic event which brings about the end of the world. Hundreds of years later, the world's atmosphere now filled with poison, humanity is in danger of extinction, both from the robots and the environment. Robots do not fare well either, as they constantly replace their body parts, fearing death as much as humans do: the corrosion of their bodies from rust, due to the poisonous environment. In this wretched time and place, Casshern, after disappearing since his murder of Luna, returns with no memory of who he is. As he embarks on a journey to find out the truth about himself, he defends the humans against the robots.

This pilot has a great ''"Twilight of the Gods"'' feels to it. Although the premise seems a little vague, there's plenty of room to flesh it out and the confrontation between the title character and the woman at the end opened up all kinds of interesting possibilities.

i wasn't aware of a previous Casshern anime when i viewed this, but it definately has the feel of a remake. understandably, ideas, themes & premises found here i've seen variations of in many, many anime previously. in spite of this, i found Sins reasonably entertaining and decently executed.

i wasn't specifically aware of a previous Casshern anime when i 1st viewed Sins, but it definitely had the feel of a remake. variations of the premise & ideas found here i've seen many, many times in other anime. aside from this i found Sins kinda entertaining & decently executed.
