"Something about Japanese horror which is totally missed by North American horror producers. that being people's own actions towards each other is horror enough that sends them to hell. Hell Girl herself wasn't frightening but the actions of the girls bullying were. The Japanese show the true horror without the slasher flick mentality or the shock value."
