Normally, the OP hero in a fantasy world has been done to death, there are even some "hero defects to the enemy" plots out there as well, but the way this show switches back and forth between being a relatively normal fantasy anime to batshit crazy is at hte least fun to watch. | |||
I doubt this will be one of my favourites for the season, but of what I have seen this season its in the top half. | |||

The Demon King has been defeated and now the Demon World is running a competition to choose a successor. A muscular, high-level human named Helck has joined the competition claiming that he wishes to destroy all humans. Is he serious? Red Vamirio, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the entire Demon Empire, is monitoring the competition and cannot trust him. What's the secret behind Helck, and the Human World?

This show actually manages to be fun, despite the ordinary run of the mill seeming premise. Animation quality is kinda mid, but it nails the comedy of the former hero entering the tournament to be the next Demon King. Wonderfully absurdist without being "lol so random".
