Nanoka passes through a portal into the Taisho era, where exorcist Mao reluctantly rescues her from the jaws of a grotesque yokai. When Nanoka gets back to the present, she discovers she has some new, incredible abilities. She returns to the past looking for answers, only to get caught up in Mao’s investigation of a series of gruesome murders. As her questions about herself multiply, Nanoka learns that Mao is cursed by a cat demon named Byoki and so is his sword. If anyone but Mao attempts to wield it, they are doomed. But when Mao’s life is in jeopardy, Nanoka picks up his blade and swings!

Nanoka traverse un portail et se retrouve propulsée dans l'ère Taisho, où l'exorciste Mao la sauve, à contrecœur, des griffes d'un yokai monstrueux. De retour au présent, Nanoka découvre qu'elle possède de nouveaux pouvoirs extraordinaires. Bangin' opening track. I'm always a fan of Rumiko-san's art style. Kinda like Inuyasha, but the demon is the schoolgirl this time? Feels like a monster of the week show, with a very slow burn romance sub plot.

It's been a while since I have watched a time-link show, and this one was pretty good.
Naturally, it reminded me of Inuyasha (which is to be expected) in both the animation and story.
The visual style is very reminiscent of the 80s, but has been updated to have a more modern quality.
All in all, this was a fun watch.

Michael Eh?

Very much like Inu Yashu but a totally different story and pacing. Music is excellent and the MC is yelling and screaming but seems level headed. Liking the mystery of the two backgrounds and how they intertwine. Great show.
