The enigmatic Sohma family shares a great secret, its members are possessed by spirits of the Chinese Zodiac, and when they are hugged by members of the opposite sex, they transform into their Zodiac animal! Tohru Honda, an orphaned high school freshman, is given lodging in the Sohma household in exchange for taking care of household chores. L'énigmatique famille Sohma partage un grand secret: ses membres sont possédés par les esprits du zodiaque chinois et, lorsqu'ils sont embrassés par des membres du sexe opposé, ils se transforment en leur animal zodiacal! Tohru Honda, étudiant de première année orphelin au lycée, est hébergé chez les Sohma en échange de ses tâches ménagères. Tohru, humble, est très reconnaissante de la générosité de la famille Sohma. Plus elle restera longtemps avec elle, plus elle réalisera à quel point elle est une bénédiction dans leur vie.
