Maria, the daughter of a duke, grew up believing she would one day inherit her father's dukedom. Lorsqu'elle part étudier à l'étranger dans un pays voisin où elle a encore une chance de trouver l'âme sœur, elle est stupéfaite lorsque le prince héritier déclare devant tout le monde que leurs fiançailles sont annulées ! Attendez… quels fiançailles ?!
Apparemment, il l'a confondue avec la mauvaise personne ! Mais une fois le malentendu dissipé et après l'avoir vue mettre hors d'état de nuire une bande de bandits, il s'avère que ce prince a peut-être un faible pour les jeunes femmes fortes et indépendantes.
